The original version of The Rubber Band performed throughout much of Queensland for five years and became a very successful and popular dance and pub band, playing hundreds of gigs across the length and breadth of the state.

The original Rubber Band finally disbanded in Brisbane in 1970, when two members were conscripted into the Army for national service. 

Originally, the Rubber Band would have been described as a ‘pub-rock covers band’. These days, this local group presents a variety of vocal styles using a variety of instruments in their performance.

Their modern-day repertoire  includes, Blues, Roots, Blues-Rock, Country-Rock, Rock, as well as some originals.
